Diego da Silva Costa, born 7 October 1988, is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for English club Chelsea and the Spain national squad. He has been described by scholars as a talented striker whose prime attributes are his physicality, goalscoring and ability to keep possession. Costa has been criticised and penalise for various schisms with opponents.



He embarked his job with Braga and Penafiel in Portugal, and signed off by Atletico Madrid in 2007. He was lent back to Braga, and then to Celta de Vigo and Albacete before being sold to Real Valladolid in 2009. He returned to Atletico the following season and went on to play a key role in their onrush, scoring 27 points as they won the league claim in 2014, and then met Chelsea for PS32 million. He composed 21 purposes in his first season in England, triumphing the Premier League and League Cup.
