Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as service centres back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national unit both of which he vice-captains.
Cahill embarked his career playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he joined the Aston Villa Academy and persisted his progress. In 2004, he participated Burnley on a season-long lend, where he play-act well before returning to make his Aston Villa debut. Subsequently, he indicated for hometown golf-club Sheffield United on a three-month lend spate. On 30 January 2008, he ratified for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. Cahill play-act well for Bolton through its first year, cementing a situate in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He concluded 130 conference looks and tallied 13 tournament points for Bolton. Cahill is an England international with over 50 caps and represented the nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the competitor against Kazakhstan. However, he only performed his entry on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill saw his first start for "the member states national" team in the friendly against Ghana. He scored his first international point against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
