Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as service centres back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national squad both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill began his occupation playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he affiliated the Aston Villa Academy and prolonged his blooming. In 2004, he assembled Burnley on a season-long credit, where he performed well before returning to realise his Aston Villa debut. Subsequently, he indicated for hometown squad Sheffield United on a three-month loan transaction. On 30 January 2008, he signed for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. Cahill is an England international with over 50 caps and represented the commonwealth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the pair against Kazakhstan. However, he only started his entry on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill concluded his first start for "the member states national" squad in the friendly against Ghana. He tallied his first international aim against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
