Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national crew both of which he vice-captains.
Cahill embarked his profession playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he met the Aston Villa Academy and sustained his exploitation. In 2004, he participated Burnley on a season-long lend, where he play-act long before returning to conclude his Aston Villa debut. Later, he signed for hometown sorority Sheffield United on a three-month loan slew. On 30 January 2008, he ratified for Bolton Wanderers for nearly PS5 million. Cahill played well for Bolton through its first year, cementing a plaza in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He obligated 130 organization images and tallied 13 league objectives for Bolton. In January 2012, Cahill indicated for Chelsea for nearly PS7 million. Cahill is an England international with over 50 covers and represented the commonwealth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the pair against Kazakhstan. However, he only impelled his entry on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill manufactured his first start for the national unit in the friendly against Ghana. He scored his first international goal against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
