Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who toy as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national squad both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill embarked his profession playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he participated the Aston Villa Academy and persisted his exploitation. In 2004, he assembled Burnley on a season-long lend, where he performed long before returning to determine his Aston Villa debut. Eventually, he ratified for hometown society Sheffield United on a three-month loan transaction. On 30 January 2008, he signed for Bolton Wanderers for nearly PS5 million. Cahill acted well for Bolton through its first year, cementing a plaza in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He shaped 130 organization forms and orchestrated 13 conference points for Bolton. In January 2012, Cahill signed for Chelsea for approximately PS7 million. Cahill won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup in his introduction season at Chelsea, and went on to triumph the UEFA Europa League, League Cup and Premier League.



Cahill is an England international with over 50 caps and represented the nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the parallel against Kazakhstan. Nonetheless, he only made his introduction on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill realise his first start for "the member states national" team in the friendly against Ghana. He composed his first international aim against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
