Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who toy as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national team both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill embarked his busines playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he connected the Aston Villa Academy and sustained his growth. In 2004, he met Burnley on a season-long lend, where he played well before returning to impel his Aston Villa debut. Later, he ratified for hometown golf-club Sheffield United on a three-month loan lot. On 30 January 2008, he ratified for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. Cahill performed well for Bolton through the years, cementing a home in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He concluded 130 tournament illusions and composed 13 organization objectives for Bolton. In January 2012, Cahill signed for Chelsea for approximately PS7 million. Cahill won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup in his introduction season at Chelsea, and went on to triumph the UEFA Europa League, League Cup and Premier League.



Cahill is an England international with over 50 ceilings and represented the commonwealth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the join against Kazakhstan. However, this is the only way drew his debut on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill offset his first start for the national team in the friendly against Ghana. He orchestrated his first international goal against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
