Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national team both of which he vice-captains.

Cahill embarked his profession playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he met the Aston Villa Academy and persisted his change. In 2004, he assembled Burnley on a season-long lend, where he played long before returning to meet his Aston Villa debut.
