Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who toy as service centres back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national squad both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill originated his profession playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he connected the Aston Villa Academy and persisted his improvement. Cahill is an England international with over 50 covers and represented the nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the match against Kazakhstan. However, this is the only way offset his entry on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill saw his first start for the national squad in the friendly against Ghana. He composed his first international goal against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
