Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national crew both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill embarked his vocation playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he connected the Aston Villa Academy and persisted his occurrence. In 2004, he joined Burnley on a season-long loan, where he played well before returning to determine his Aston Villa debut. Eventually, he signed for hometown team Sheffield United on a three-month lend agreement. On 30 January 2008, he indicated for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. Cahill accomplished well for Bolton through the years, cementing a target in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He obliged 130 conference appearances and orchestrated 13 league goals for Bolton. In January 2012, Cahill signed for Chelsea for nearly PS7 million. Cahill won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup in his entry season at Chelsea, and went on to triumph the UEFA Europa League, League Cup and Premier League.



Cahill is an England international with over 50 detonators and represented the commonwealth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the accord against Kazakhstan. However, this is the only way acquired his debut on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill represented his first start for "the member states national" team in the friendly against Ghana. He composed his first international destination against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
