Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as service centres back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national crew both of which he vice-captains.
Cahill inaugurated his career playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he attached the Aston Villa Academy and continued his improvement. In 2004, he affiliated Burnley on a season-long credit, where he acted long before returning to draw his Aston Villa debut. Afterward, he signed for hometown squad Sheffield United on a three-month lend cope. On 30 January 2008, he ratified for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. Cahill play-act well for Bolton through its first year, cementing a region in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He formed 130 tournament impressions and scored 13 league goals for Bolton. In January 2012, Cahill indicated for Chelsea for nearly PS7 million. Cahill won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup in his debut season at Chelsea, and went on to earn the UEFA Europa League, League Cup and Premier League.
Cahill is an England international with over 50 covers and represented the nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the match against Kazakhstan. However, this is the only way represented his entry on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill induced his first start for "the member states national" crew in the friendly against Ghana. He tallied his first international objective against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
