Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who dallies as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national team both of which he vice-captains.

Cahill originated his occupation playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he connected the Aston Villa Academy and persisted his occurrence. In 2004, he connected Burnley on a season-long lend, where he play-act well before returning to move his Aston Villa debut. Subsequently, he ratified for hometown association Sheffield United on a three-month loan bargain. On 30 January 2008, he signed for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. On 29 March 2011, Cahill drew his first start for the national squad in the friendly against Ghana. He scored his first international goal against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
