Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who represents as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national squad both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill began his career playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he connected the Aston Villa Academy and sustained his increase. In 2004, he affiliated Burnley on a season-long loan, where he performed well before returning to compile his Aston Villa debut. Subsequently, he signed for hometown squad Sheffield United on a three-month loan lot. On 30 January 2008, he indicated for Bolton Wanderers for nearly PS5 million. Cahill accomplished well for Bolton through the years, cementing a neighbourhood in the first team and becoming vice-captain. He stirred 130 organization appearings and composed 13 organization objectives for Bolton. In January 2012, Cahill signed for Chelsea for nearly PS7 million. Cahill is an England international with over 50 covers and represented the commonwealth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland, but chose to play for England. In June 2009, Cahill was called up to the England squad for the pair against Kazakhstan. However, this is the only way became his entry on 3 September 2010, coming on as a substitute against Bulgaria. On 29 March 2011, Cahill compiled his first start for "the member states national" unit in the friendly against Ghana. He tallied his first international point against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
