Gary James Cahill /' keIhIl/( born 19 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who dallies as a centre back for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national squad both of which he vice-captains.



Cahill embarked his profession playing for the AFC Dronfield youth system in Derbyshire. In 2000, he joined the Aston Villa Academy and prolonged his change. In 2004, he joined Burnley on a season-long credit, where he played well before returning to see his Aston Villa debut. Eventually, he indicated for hometown club Sheffield United on a three-month credit transaction. On 30 January 2008, he indicated for Bolton Wanderers for approximately PS5 million. Cahill accomplished well for Bolton through the years, cementing a neighbourhood in the first team and becoming vice-captain. On 29 March 2011, Cahill represented his first start for the national unit in the friendly against Ghana. He composed his first international goal against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier.
